Summer Intensive 2024

NOVA LINEA CONTEMPORARY DANCE...

is excited to announce a new component to our Summer Programs – our Professional Intensive with a Performance Experience. Dancers in this 2 – Week Professional Intensive will participate in a creative process that will culminate in a live performance on a proscenium stage alongside the Company Artists of Nova Linea. This intensive is a unique opportunity to experience company life, add a performance to a resume, learn more about Nova Linea, and get valuable performance experience as a guest artist in a company.  The final performance will be open to the public on Thursday August 8th, at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center For The Arts with tickets available to purchase. 

Our annual Five – Day Summer Intensive overlaps with the Professional Intensive, and is available to dancers aged 16 and up who are looking to train from and alongside professionals. These dancers will take the same classes as our Professional Intensive participants. Registration for the 5 day Summer Intensive is now open and there is no application required.

Our Professional Intensive with The Performance Experience will take place from Monday July 29th to Thursday August 8th, and be held at Accent On Dance Studios Inc. in Waukesha, WI. The intensive will begin at approximately 5 PM on the 29th. This workshop is available to dancers aged 18 and up who are looking to pursue a career in dance. The first five days of classes will include modern, contemporary, Nova Linea repertoire, and improvisation. In addition, dancers in our Professional Intensive will participate in a creative process with Artistic Director Jared Baker that will culminate in a live performance on stage alongside the Company Artists of Nova Linea Contemporary Dance. The second week of the intensive will include company class, followed by rehearsal. The final performance will be open to the public on Thursday August 8th, at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center For The Arts with tickets available to purchase. This intensive is a unique opportunity to experience company life, learn more about Nova Linea, add a performance to a resume, and get valuable performance experience as a guest artist in a company. 

Housing will not be included in the tuition for the Professional Intensive. Nova Linea is happy to provide transportation to and from Accent on Dance Studios Inc. from the Marriott Milwaukee West hotel. Students will need to find their own transportation to and from the airport. Students not at this hotel will need to find their own transportation. Application Requirements

  • Record and submit an approximately 60 seconds of movement. This could be a self-choreographed solo, a solo set on you by another choreographer, or phrase work from a class. Be sure to clearly indicate who you are if others are in the video. This video should not be improvisation.
  • Submit a Resume/CV and a Headshot.
  • Write a short statement on why you want to attend the 2024 Nova Linea Summer Intensive.
  • Be the age of 18 as of 8/1/2024.
  • Submit all materials through Google Forms by May 25th, 2024.

An audition application is required for any individual interested in attending our Professional Intensive. Space will be limited. Upon the completion of an application, applicants will receive an acceptance or waitlist email. Acceptances will receive an email with information, as well as a separate Google Forms to fill out additional information including payment. The intensive will begin at approximately 5 PM on the 29th, and conclude at approximately 1 PM on the 2nd. This workshop is available to dancers aged 16 and up who are looking to pursue a career in dance. Classes will be taught at a college-aged level and will be taken alongside our Professional Intensive attendees. Classes will include modern, contemporary, Nova Linea repertoire, and improvisation. 

Housing will not be included in the tuition for the Summer Intensive. Nova Linea is happy to provide transportation to and from Accent on Dance Studios Inc. from the Marriott Milwaukee West hotel.
