Mission Statement
It is the mission of Nova Linea Contemporary Dance to:
in order to help cultivate the future audience of dance and share with the community the positive impact it can have on all human beings.
Our Artists are Valued
Establishing an environment within a dance company that is positive, encouraging, and family-oriented is crucial to success. Though this may appear to be an obvious goal, it is not something that always exists in the professional world. The traditional hierarchical system that most companies uphold will not exist within Nova Linea. The company will be a collaborative and cohesive environment where we will place value on the dancers, their well-being, and their time. This will involve total transparency in financial compensation, time commitment, and the expectations of a company dancer. We will acknowledge and respect the lifestyle and financial needs of an artist by working reasonable hours in the studio. To ensure that their inner spark stays alive, dancers will not be overworked. We believe that a valued and creatively stimulated dancer can produce higher quality work than one that is spread too thin.
The Future of Art
Dance studios are the heart beat of the industry through the inspiration, mentorship, and knowledge they provide to their communities. Nova Linea strives to work alongside these missions and contribute our abilities as a professional company. Concert dance provides the opportunity for longer, more in-depth works of art that leave you time to critically think and absorb. These insightful connections and imprints are what live theater is all about. Patience has its own rewards both for a young dancer learning the art form or an audience member in the theater. Nova Linea wants to be an integral part of cultivating these future of dance enthusiasts. We hope to accomplish this by collaborating with dance studios by providing performances, informative workshops, scholarships, and career guidance.
Live Theater is Impactful
Experiencing live theater has the power to be one of the most profound moments in an individual’s life. It requires something critical of viewers that online platforms do not: the patience for something that is not instantaneous. This can culminate in a much greater reward. Dance can be healing, emotional, and sometimes difficult, but it always leaves us better human beings than we were before. It has the power to change people’s lives, which is why it is more important now than ever to support live theater, in all its capacities, before it truly becomes lost.
