Sydney Goeman (Brookfield, WI) began her dance journey at Accent on Dance Studios, Inc. under the direction of Kellie Plath. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a BFA in Dance and a minor in Business Administration. She had the opportunity to train with faculty members Elizabeth George, Sam Watson, Doug Nielsen, Amy Ernst, Michael Williams, Susan Quinn, and Tamara Dyke-Compton. Sydney was also fortunate to be selected as a cast member for master works such as “Chicago Suite” by Ann Reinking and Gary Chryst and “Megalopolis” by Larry Keigwin. As a student, she was given the opportunity to perform throughout 13 cities in China with Art.If.Act. Dance Project in the summer of 2012. Upon graduation, Sydney moved to Chicago where she has performed in “Within” by Visceral Dance Center and “New Dances” with Thodos Dance Chicago. She has been a company dancer for Esoteric Dance Project and NOMI Dance Chicago, where she had the privilege to perform in Dance For Life 2018 in Joshua Blake Carter’s piece titled “Kim”. Most recently, Sydney performed with Still Inspired in their 6th season performance titled “Still Inspired(?): Influence.” Sydney is honored to be a founding member of Nova Linea Contemporary Dance.
