Summer Intensives 2025

NOVA LINEA CONTEMPORARY DANCE...

is proud to present the Professional Intensive with a Performance Experience for its second year. This two-week intensive offers dancers the opportunity to immerse themselves in a professional creative process, culminating in a live performance on a proscenium stage alongside Nova Linea’s Company Artists. This is a rare chance to gain insight into company life, build performance experience, and add a professional credit to your resume as a guest artist.

The final performances will take place on Monday August 4, and Tuesday, August 5 at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, with tickets available for purchase.

Running alongside the Professional Intensive, our Five-Day Summer Intensive is open to dancers ages 16 and up who are looking to train with and alongside professionals. Participants in the Five-Day Intensive will take the same classes as the Professional Intensive dancers, making it an excellent opportunity for advanced training. Registration for the Five-Day Summer Intensive is now open—no application required.

Our Professional Intensive with The Performance Experience will take place from Saturday July 26th to Wednesday August 6th, and be held at Accent On Dance Studios Inc. in Waukesha, WI. The intensive will begin at approximately 5 PM on the 26th. This workshop is available to dancers aged 18 and up who are looking to pursue a career in dance. The first five days of classes will include modern, contemporary, Nova Linea repertoire, and improvisation. In addition, dancers in our Professional Intensive will participate in a creative process with Artistic Director Jared Baker that will culminate in a live performance on stage alongside the Company Artists of Nova Linea Contemporary Dance. The second week of the intensive will include company class, followed by rehearsal. The final performance will be open to the public on Monday August 4th, and Tuesday, August 5th at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center For The Arts with tickets available to purchase. This intensive is a unique opportunity to experience company life, learn more about Nova Linea, add a performance to a resume, and get valuable performance experience as a guest artist in a company. 

Housing will not be included in the tuition for the Professional Intensive. Nova Linea is happy to provide transportation to and from Accent on Dance Studios Inc. from the Marriott Milwaukee West hotel. Students will need to find their own transportation to and from the airport. Students not at this hotel will need to find their own transportation. Application Requirements

  • Record and submit an approximately 60 seconds of movement. This could be a self-choreographed solo, a solo set on you by another choreographer, or phrase work from a class. Be sure to clearly indicate who you are if others are in the video. This video should not be improvisation.
  • Submit a Resume/CV and a Headshot.
  • Write a short statement on why you want to attend the 2025 Nova Linea Professional Intensive.
  • Be the age of 18 as of 8/1/2025.
  • Submit all materials through Google Forms by June 1st, 2025 (May 5th Early Bird)

An audition application is required for any individual interested in attending our Professional Intensive. Space will be limited. Upon the completion of an application, applicants will receive an acceptance or waitlist email. Acceptances will receive an email with information, as well as a separate Google Forms to fill out additional information including payment. This workshop is available to dancers aged 16 and up who are looking to pursue a career in dance. Classes will be taught at a college-aged level and will be taken alongside our Professional Intensive attendees. Classes will include modern, contemporary, Nova Linea repertoire, and improvisation.
