Amber Terry

Company Artist

Amber Terry (Mobile, Alabama) is a May 2024 graduate from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Amber began training at her local studio, and later joined a company at her high school where she trained in Ballet, Modern, and Jazz. During this time, she was invited to join Tremaine Dance Convention’s performance company, giving her a new perspective on dance. Once accepted into the University of Arizona, Amber advanced from a dance minor to a dance major and was able to perform in Masterworks including Diversion of Angels, D-Man in the Waters, and Company B, as well as works by Guest Artists Juel D. Lane, Kayla Farrish, and UA faculty. She was recognized with the Catherine MacCorquodole Memorial Scholarship Endowment during the Spring 2022 awards. In the summers of 2023 and 2024, Amber had the pleasure to travel to Bolzano, Italy to assist Associate Professor Sam Watson at the Tanz-Bozen International Dance Festival. In addition, she has attended Nova Linea’s Summer Intensive in the summers of 2023 and 2024. She most recently worked with Linda Kent, an original company member of Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, and Linda Denise Fisher Harell, Artistic Director of Hubbard Street on Streams. She notably had the privilege to perform in Hassan Syed’s Andromeda at a charity event hosted by Misty Copeland, which earned $100,000 for the University of Arizona School of Dance and featured works from Hubbard Street, Ballet Tucson, and Maurice Chestnut. Amber Terry is a well-rounded individual, in addition to her dancing, who is humorous, genuine, and dependable. Her journey to be where she is has proven her dedication and drive toward her goals and ambitions. Amber also has a passion for makeup that she is navigating through to be able to blend her two interests in her future career.
